is pleased to offer one opportunity for a practicing teacher or final year pre-service teacher to undertake
TAG international member, Rosemary Cathcart, PhD, director of Reach Education, has generously offered a subsidised place in the Certificate of Effective Practice in Gifted Education. The TAG committee accepted Rosemary’s offer and matched it, to offer one practicing teacher or final year pre-service eduction student, the opportunity to undertake this course at no cost to themselves.
The successful applicant will:
- Be currently teaching in Tasmania and intending to continue to do so for the foreseeable future; or
- Be currently studying their last year of a pre-service teaching course in Tasmania with intent to teach here
- Have the support of the senior staff in their school
- Be prepared to integrate their learning into their own classroom practice
- Be prepared to share their learning within their school and help effect wider school improvements in the identification and education of gifted students
- Be prepared to share their learning and implementation journey with TAG members and our broader community via one of our online information sessions in the future
- Be a current financial individual member of TAG or teaching in a school that is a current financial school member (applications welcome from very new members!)
Interested persons are asked to send a one page application, explaining why you are interested in this scholarship, addressed to ‘The Committee’ to tasgifted@gmail.com with the subject line ‘teacher scholarship’ by the end of term 3 (Friday 30th September)
*The successful applicant must be prepared to commence the course in 2024 and complete before the end of 2024, or repay the full cost of the course to give another person the opportunity to undertake the course.
