The Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize is a short film competition open to primary and secondary school students across Australia, with students educated at home also eligible to enter.
Sponsored by the University of Sydney, the prize encourages students to explore a scientific concept, discovery or invention, or test their own scientific hypothesis, in a 1-3-minute film.
Anything goes, as long is the science is real!
All students need is access to a video or phone camera, an internet connection for the online submission component, a keenness for science and a knack for communicating. It’s a great opportunity to showcase your local science to the rest of the country – your students can participate individually or in groups of up to 6.
There is a total prize pool of $10,000 to be shared between the winners and finalist representatives also win a trip to Sydney for the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes Award Dinner at Sydney Town Hall.
