Supporting Students’ Study Practice

A seminar for teachers and parents of high ability students 

4:30pm – 6:00pm Saturday 23rd March 2019

Venue: Elizabeth College, Hobart

Adults – whether parents, carers or teachers – who want to support high ability students to achieve optimal academic results will benefit from knowing about the ways in which high ability students learn, the academic and study skills and practices required in order for them to achieve academically.

This seminar will explore research, identify critical skill development, consider habit formation and examine study practices to identify the ways in which parents and teachers can encourage and support high ability students to adopt habits that optimize academic achievements and increase opportunities for the future.

Michele Juratowitch is author of Study: The Simple Facts, an introduction to study skills, used in numerous Australian schools. Michele draws on research and her extensive experience working with high ability students, to help students identify a range of critical study skills required to achieve academic success.

Michele worked in schools for over twenty years before establishing a consultancy practice, Clearing Skies, to provide a range of services including study skills programs for students and parent education.

Michele was awarded a Churchill Fellowship; is a member of educational advisory committees; has worked with all educational sectors and levels; is a researcher, a frequent conference presenter, resource developer and author.
